I haven’t done an Empties post in a while, and I have quite a stash of junk that I decided it was time to get rid of.

I’ll no longer just be wacking you with a whole ton of empties – I’m now going to separate them into categories.  So today, we’ll go through my Hair and Body empties!

HAIR

I have 2 mini Batiste dry shampoos, in the Tropical and Blush scents.  I bought these on a 3 for 2 special at clicks, and must have already tossed the third one.  I was travelling a heck of a lot, so I liked the convenient size of these for my overnight/weekend travel bag.

Will I repurchase? Yes!

The Garnier Ultimate Blends products, that were launched in South Africa this year, are super affordable.  I bought the Honey Treasures Strength Restorer conditioner, but to be honest I don’t think it really did anything for my hair.

Will I repurchase? No.

The Garnier Sleek restorer balm was lovely – it left my hair soft and shiny and very smooth, and wasn’t very heavy.

Will I repurchase? Probably.

The Organix Nourishing Coconut Milk Instant Repair Treatment was amazing.  It smells like a tropical holiday, it left my hair unbelievably shiny and soft, and it kept straight hair sleek, and wavy hair smooth.

Will I repurchase? If I can find it, YES!  It seems to be discontinued.  I did find it in Foschini stores at a sale price, although I can’t find it on their Beauty site.

BODY

Vaseline body lotions have always been some of my favourites.  I particularly like the Cocoa Glow during winter and the Aloe Soothe in the summer (TIP: the Aloe Soothe is amazing as an Aftersun product!).  During the winter I finished up a smaller bottle of the Cocoa Glow lotion, and as soon as I saw the Cocoa Glow spray version in my local Dischem, I grabbed it.  I used that bottle every day (sometimes twice a day) for just over a month, and only then did it finish up.

Will I repurchase either? Yes, always!

The Palmer’s Shea Formula Raw Shea body lotion is amazing.  This was my second bottle, and it just does such an amazing job at moisturising dry skin.  I use this when I’m self tanning on my feet/hands/ankles/knees/elbows, and it works wonders.  It also smells DIVINE.

Will I repurchase? Clearly, this was a repurchase.

This Bronzing Spray Self Tan was the first St Tropez product I’ve bought, and I won’t be buying another.  It’s expensive, especially considering I probably only got 2 and a half full-body applications out of this can!  I also find that it really only gave my skin a slight hint of a tan, rather than a proper golden tan.

Will I repurchase? No.

I love the Soap & Glory Hand Food, and am so sad I can’t get it here in South Africa.  I got this dinky little travel size in the Sugar Crush scent, in my International Box Swop at the beginning of the year.

Will I repurchase? As soon as I can get my hands on it.

The Environ Derma-Lac lotion is the ideal way to exfoliate and moisturise your skin in one.  This is wonderful for a multitude of reasons – I use it when my skin is a little ashy or bumpy, and it leaves it super soft and smooth, it’s great to put on your feet at night, before applying a rich foot cream and socks and wake up to baby-soft feet, and it’s wonderful to breakdown the last remaining patches of self tan before you redo it.

Will I repurchase? Always!

The Body Shop body butters are a rediscovery of mine, and I’ve fallen for them so hard!  This has to be my favourite scent – the Early-Harvest Raspberry.  It’s delicious and subtle, and leaves my skin so glowy and soft.

Will I repurchase? I think this was limited edition, but whenever I find them in stores I grab them!

The Soap & Glory Whipped Clean Shower Butter is so deliciously scented – like Woolies Pistachio ice cream.  This is a cross between a super rich shower cream and an in-shower body lotion – it’s richer than shower creams, yet it doesn’t quite leave my skin moisturised enough to skip lotion.  It was a wonderful luxurious treat though!

Will I repurchase? Definitely – a superb winter body wash.  Just need to get someone overseas to help me out!

I love Nivea shower gels, and this Supreme Touch Cream Shower Oil with shea and macadamia oil and white magnolia was lovely.  It smells fresh and floral, and leaves your skin feeling very soft.  Somehow though, I still prefer the Dove shower creams.  I find that they leave your skin much softer.

Will I repurchase? Possibly.

I picked up this Possibility Orange Cupcake shower gel/shampoo/bubble bath at the Peels honey shop on the way to the KZN Midlands.  The brand is clearly a dupe for the Philosophy products, and this smelled so sweet and zesty that I figured I’d give it a try.  It was so good!

Will I repurchase? If I find another scent here in SA, then yes.
*The brand seems to have since repackaged their products, so they’re not so similar to the Philosophy brand anymore.

What products have you recently used up and loved?  I find that I’ll only REALLY finish a product if I enjoy it.  Sure, I’ll use up some products that aren’t my ideal, purely because of money spent, but I’ll usually pass an unsatisfactory product on to a friend or family member who might find more enjoyment or use in it.
