September favourites

I’m a little on the late side with favourites for last month, but I figured as long as it’s before the 10th of the current month I should be good.

I have quite a few favourites this month, both beauty and non beauty!

I don’t have a close up of the travel atomisers unfortunately, as the couple I did take were such bad quality.  They’re the two cute little pink and gold tubes on the far right of the photo.  I actually have 4 of these and I love them so much – I love having my perfume in my handbag for touch ups, but I hate packing my big perfume bottle in there.  I have a black one with my YSL Black Opium in, a silver one with my Lacoste Touch of Pink in, and then these two which I’ve been using more than the others (and my bigger perfumes) the last month.  The pink one contains Dior Addict Eau Fraiche, a lovely fresh version of the original Addict, which is much stronger and sweeter. The gold one contains Tommy Hilfiger Peach Blossom, a floral/fruity and subtly vanilla scent that I adore.  You can buy travel atomisers from shops such as Dischem or Woolworths, but these were all gifts from duty free that my folks bought me when they went on some of their overseas trips.

I have never been much of a BB cream fan, as I never find the colour or coverage to be right for my skin.  However, I’ve been taking much better care of my skin lately, and the Sorbet BB cream in Light is perfect for my skin tone, and the coverage and longevity of it are fantastic! I’ve been using it probably 5 or 6 days out of 7.  I probably have maybe a month left in this tube, if I don’t wear it every day, and I need to get another one ASAP.  These are sold at Sorbet salons or Clicks stores for R100.

When you watch as many beauty Youtubers as I do, you’ll be aware of products that have big love, such as the Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso.  It’s a beautiful peachy-shimmery shade.  It was something I’d wanted for ages, and I recently came across a page on Instagram called Muse SA.  They’re Durban-based, and import all sorts of gorgeous overseas beauty products, and have them couriered to your door!  You can see their products on their Instagram page right here.  They have such a huge variety of products, and I paid R230 for the blush.

I’d seen and heard a lot about the Essence Soo Glow cream to powder highlighters, but I hadn’t wanted to try either of them out until I saw my friend using the whiter shade in 10 Look on the Bright Side.  It’s easy to blend, so smooth and the most gorgeous colour, providing you with such a stunning glow.  I’ve been using this so much and I love it!  I paid around R55 for it, and you can get it at Dischem or Clicks stores, as well as Spree.

I also adore my Essence powder brush, as it’s the perfect size to pack in my makeup bag, and use to touch up powder/bronzer and even blusher during the day.  It’s incredibly soft and fluffy, such good quality for the price, plus the pretty pastel purple with white lacey patterns is gorgeous.  It was around R60 at Dischem.

I bought this black Essence gel liner after watching Jules from AllDolledUp, as I usually love Essence products and this seemed like a goodie.  I think it might be the best eyeliner pencil I’ve used, as it stays put, but you can smudge it out a bit before it sets, if you want a smokier look.  It’s super soft and creamy too, so you don’t need to press down too hard.  I also use this to tightline my eyes.  This is R44.50 at Redsquare.

I was given this little pot of Inglot Body Sparkles for Christmas a few years back and I just LOVE it for a night out.  It’s in the shade 65, and is a rose-gold glittery pigment, and I use it on top of an eyeshadow just to add some pizazz to an evening eye look.  It’s SO gorgeous and stays put really well.  These cost R239 for 1g, but it lasts forever, as I’ve had mine for at least 2 years, and have used less than half of it.

I’ve heard a lot about the L’Oreal Color Infallible eyeshadows, but hadn’t even thought to look at them in the shops until I had some time to waste one day in Dischem.  I picked the shade 012 Endless Chocolate, as I’m always on the lookout for deep chocolate browns that will last and apply easily.  These shadows are said to last 24 hours and have the softest, velvety texture to them.  They’re INCREDIBLY pigmented so you need to use a light hand (first time I tried it I may have looked like I was punched in the eye), but they stay put so well, even without an eyeshadow primer.  I’m looking forward to increasing my collection of these now.  These retail for R139.95 at Dischem and Clicks stores.

The blogging and Youtube world has been going crazy for the LA Girl Matte Flat Finish Pigment Glosses.  I picked up 3 shades – Dreamy, Tulle and Rebel, and by far my favourite has been Dreamy.  It’s the most wearable of the colours, as it’s a nudey pinkish brown, and even though it can feel a little tacky if I press my lips together, I don’t mind.  It lasts so long, and dries down to a perfect matte finish.  These are R59.95 at Dischem, but I bought mine on one of their 3 for 2 specials, so I got one for free.

I FINALLY got my hands on the MAC lip liner in Soar, and I couldn’t be happier.  This is one of the shades that Kylie Jenner uses on her pout, and it is so smooth and creamy that I’ve been using it all over my lips without a lipstick or gloss.  Absolutely love this and so glad that I finally got it.  The lip liners at MAC retail for R190.

Finally for my two non-beauty favourites – I bought both of these from YDE.  I can’t remember the exact prices of them, as it was at the beginning of September, but the necklace is just a gold multi chain necklace which is beautiful, and the tan heels are from Sexy with Attitude and are so comfy, as well as gorgeous!
