For ages I was a matte lipstick lover – liquid lips, regular lippies and stains. However, I have had a sudden return to my love affair with lipgloss, and I wanted to share my current favourites with you. All of these have comfortable formulas, feel amazing on the lips, last a decent amount of time (for a lipgloss) and are just downright divine!

I prefer my gloss on the nude side – a more natural wash of colour, so that it’s not super obvious as it wears off, nor does it rub off on my teeth. These are a variety of nudes with pink or peach undertones to them. Some have shimmer, some are cool toned and others are warmer. But I love them all!
Revlon Kiss Plumping Lip Crème in 525 Barely Blush R99.95
I kept hearing about these online and finally decided to take the plunge and buy it. I love that it’s almost a cross between a gloss and a lipstick, as it’s very thick and is opaque in colour. It has a lovely soft sweet scent, and feels super buttery on the lips. It also has a super gentle tingle to it – more a kick of mint than an actual tingle.
I’d love to buy a few more of these and add to my collection!
Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb in Fenty Glow £16
I ordered this on Harvey Nichols and had it delivered to my friend Cam from Jane Wonder while she was staying in the UK with her sister, so I managed to save on the gloss itself as well as shipping – score!
The gloss is everything the hype makes it out to be – thick, comfortable, luxurious feeling, and it looks GORGEOUS on. It smells to me EXACTLY like strawberry Fizzers.
I’ve been keeping this one in my handbag, because I just can’t get enough of it.
**I did note that the packaging doesn’t FEEL as luxe as it looks – it’s fine just looking at it, and holding it, but when you actually open the tube, the lid feels a bit thin and flimsy almost.
Urban Decay Hi-Fi Shine Ultra Cushion lipgloss in Fuel R290
This is my second gloss from the Hi-Fi range (I also have the shimmery, duo chrome Fireball), but this lovely nude shade has my heart. It’s a my lips but better kind of colour and I ADORE the vanilla-mint scent to it.
This gloss also tingles ever so slightly – more than the Revlon one, but less than the Soap & Glory one I’m going to tell you about shortly!
MUD Lip Glaze in Bare R270*
I received this in the Smitten box I received at the launch of the MUD store in Gateway last year. It’s a slightly stickier gloss than the others, but it has an ever so subtle shimmer that leaves your lips looking plump and juicy and gorgeous. Every time I wear this, I wonder why I don’t wear it EVERY SINGLE DAY. My lips just look so much better with this on them!
It also has a subtle sweet scent like sweeties – not overpowering or strong, but definitely there. Everything I want in a gloss basically.
Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Pillow Plump XXL in Nude in Town £10
I own the original, clear gloss of this and it’s just awesome! Definitely a love or hate item though, as it doesn’t so much tingle as fizz like you’ve layered your lips heavily in sherbet. Some people find this unpleasant, but I find the sensation addictive – it genuinely feels as though my lips are plumping up, and they look slightly plumped too (not just because of the shiny appearance either).
I love this nude shade, although it is a little on the warm side for me, however I still reach for it often enough that I’m halfway through the tube. If you like tingling glosses – give this one a try!
Catrice Volumizing lip Booster in 040 Nuts About Mary R69
I’ve owned this for a while, as you can see by the battered tube. Catrice glosses are seriously good, especially for the price, and this could be a cheaper dupe for the Dior Addict Lip Maximiser (although I’ve used that and nothing can EVER top it).
It has a slight tingling feel – a little more than the Urban Decay one – and feels lovely on the lips. They also have a few different shades, which is lovely as you have a selection for different skin types!

I’m loving the Sorbet Get Glossy Queen Bee, it’s just magic. Beautiful swatches.
Ooohh I still have to try the Sorbet makeup! I was put off by the price tag and not 100% reviews on the foundations.. Maybe I must give the glosses a try!
I have been veering toward glosses recently too, and all of these nude shades look lovely!
I’m loving them all, and I haven’t used gloss in years!
