Have you been struggling to find your hubby something for Christmas? Is your Dad the guy who already ‘has it all’? Or are you just looking for something a little different for your boyfriend or brother this year?
Check out this gift guide – I’ve done quite an extensive one this year, and there is SURELY something here for every man.
1.Jamie Oliver Vintage Hi Ball Glasses, R349 for 4 from Superbalist – I know my hubby has been looking for nice glasses to have his gin and tonic in, and these are great. Made from hand-blown glass and dishwasher safe, these would be nice given as a gift with some fancy craft tonic waters to the gin-enthusiast.
2.Man Of The Moment gift box, R599 from Yuppiechef – For when you really don’t know what to get, a gift box like this is ideal. It comes with 4 craft beers, a bottle of sriracha, artisan salt, beer bread mix, a NOMU meat rub, olive oil, a savoury snack and a chilli sauce. Perfect for the foodie-type who loves to braai or cook. There are many other gift boxes on offer on Yuppiechef, so take a browse to find the perfect one!
3.Mellerware Biltong Maker and Fruit Dehydrator, R499 from Yuppiechef – I know I’m dying for an abundant supply of dry wors, so I know a lot of gents would love something like this. I’m desperate for the hubby to get one!
4.Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Select Tennessee Whiskey in Gift Box, R499 from Makro – Ah Makro. This place always has great gift sets of booze at this time of year. I know my hubby loves his bourbon, so this particular one is ideal for him, but they have PLENTY of other spirits and wines in gorgeous gift sets.
5.Mini Braai Thermometers, Woolworths – For the life of me, these don’t seem to be online anymore and I have no clue why! I saw plenty of the boxes of them in my local Woolworths just yesterday. If these strike your fancy, they were under R200 and great for the man who wants a perfect steak each time.
6.Instant Regret Chilli Chocolate from Mantality for R159 – Does your man love hot stuff? Does he eat the Lindt dark chocolate with chilli like it’s, well, just plain chocolate? Get him some of this! It’s made using 6.4 million Scoville chilli extract (i.e. it’s f*$!ing hot!) and is not for the faint at heart.
7.Meerlust Rubicon duo in Gift Box – GOSH DAMMIT! Another one that they seem to have removed, or sold out of. It’s gems like these that sell out SUPER fast. There is another Meerlust Rubicon in a tin that retails for R329 at Makro, but this was a great saving when bought as a duo, and I was totally going to buy it, give one bottle to someone for Christmas, and keep the other for myself. What a sad day! This is one of the most decadent, delicious red wines ever.
1.Macanudo Café Crystal Cigar Connoisseur Set, R745 from Mantality – Made in the Dominican Republic, this set comes with 2 cigars, a steel cigar cutter and a Eurojet cigar lighter. Very fancy indeed!
2.101 Drinking Games Set, R329 from Mantality – Great for the gent who still loves having a bit of a game during a braai or night in. This provides him with all the drinking games he could think of in one box. If you’re feeling extra generous, throw in a bottle of shooters!
3.Leatherman Wave II, R1899 from Cape Union Mart – Every man needs a multi tool, and Leatherman are by far some of the best. This one puts the ‘multi’ in multi tool – it has SO many different extensions and tools.
4.Skull Shaped Shot Glasses from Mantality for R175 for 4 – For the man who loves his bar, and has made it the centre-piece of his home. These are pretty gimmicky, but very cool.
1.Camo Wash Bag by Country Road, from Woolworths for R399.20 – A masculine toiletry bag, with 2 separate compartments for toiletries. Very nice, Country Road, very nice.
2.Armani Code Profumo EDP, R1306 for 60ml from Woolworths – Dang but this is a sexy fragrance! I found his and hers Armani fragrance samples in a magazine recently, and gave this one to my hubby. It smells exceptionally warm and manly and just overall delicious.
3.Michael Kors Brecken Watch, from Superbalist for R5999 – I think an all-black watch is so lovely to look at, and this super masculine take on that is fantastic. Roman numerals replace the regular numbers on the watch, adding to the bold look.
4.Leather Look Crossbody Bag in Tan, R350 from Woolworths – Really nice piece for someone who possibly reps or does a lot of travelling.
5.Thomas Leather Weekender bag by Trenery for Woolworths, for R3199 – This is a great gift for the man who does a lot of travelling, whether it be for business or pleasure.
6.Chaps Bransen Watch, R1599 from Superbalist – Leather strap, stainless steel case and a black face with three sub-dials. Simple, yet classy.
7.Nak Beard Elixir, R320 for 30ml from Retail Box – For the guy trying to keep his lush beard in perfect condition. This hydrates, softens and refreshes beard hair, leaving it shiny and smooth. It also helps to soothe skin irritation and dryness.
8.Clarins Shave Ease Oil for Men, R310 from Red Square – Softens stubble, prevents razor burn and allows for a nice, close shave. It’ll leave his skin feeling super pampered with each use too.
9.Black Leather-Look Tyvek Wallet from Paperslim for R250 – For the guy who likes something a little unique. These wallets are super slim, exceptionally durable and recyclable! The look and feel kind of like paper, but are resistant to water, tears and punctures.
Seen anything here that would work for your chap? Any other ideas??
