Finding ways to eat easy, yet nutritious food ever Finding ways to eat easy, yet nutritious food every day isn't always fun. Both Hubby & I work full time, & I'm currently studying as well - so a good slow-cooker recipe is always a win! This is a lighter, healthier casserole version of a butter chicken curry. Easy to adapt to use what you have in your fridge/pantry, & easy to dial back or amp up the heat depending on your palate. PLUS, it makes use of a top ingredient - the @cloverwaybetter rich, nutritious Double Cream Plain Yoghurt. A healthier option to all those heavy creams & oils, without compromising on flavour! INGREDIENTS:- Dash of olive oil to line your slow-cooker 1 x onion Garlic (I used 2 heaped tsp because I LOVE garlic) 4 x chicken breasts, chopped up 1 x can lite coconut milk 1 x sachet butter chicken spice blend Curry powder of choice (+- 1 tbs) Garam masala (+- 1 tbs) 1 x sachet tomato paste Salt to taste @cloverwaybetter Double Cream Plain Yoghurt (+- 6-8 heaped tbs) Butter METHOD:- Add oil to your slow cooker, & add in sliced onion & crushed garlic. Chop chicken & add. Whisk the coconut milk, spices, tomato paste & salt in a bowl/jug, & pour over chicken. Add Double Cream Plain Yoghurt, & mix. Slice a few slivers of butter & add to the top of the mix. Place lid on slow cooker & turn on low. Cook for 4-5 hours. Serve with rice & fresh coriander. TRULAB REVIEW I've been testing out the @trulabza TRULAB REVIEW I've been testing out the @trulabza products for some time now (seeing as 2 of them were high concentrate active serums, I wanted to give them a real shot before I came back to you with my thoughts). I've reviewed each product in the video, & here are the details! Selfie Skin AHA Cleanser - 120ml - R239 Blend of Salicylic, Lactic & Glycolic acids. Reduces pores, refines skin, minimises hyperpigmentation, gently exfoliates. Non-drying & gentle, yet effective. Glow It Vitamin C Serum - 30ml - R289 Brightens skin, hydrates skin, evens out skin tone, promotes collagen production in skin. Really lovely, effective serum. Youthful Retinol Serum - 30ml - R289 Reduces appearance of wrinkles, exfoliates skin, hydrates skin, contains Vitamin A. I found the concentration of retinol in here to be high considering the affordable price tag - therefore I had to slowly add this to my routine - 1 use per week during week 1, 2 uses for weeks 2 & 3, & I'm now using it 3 times a week. This is honestly one of my top picks for bubbly, as the pretty pink liquid is packed with flavours of strawberry, raspberry & citrus - the perfect blend to pair with an aperitif like Aperol. On a sunny, summer day towards the end of our holiday, we had friends around for a braai - & I whipped us up some Aperol Spritzes! INGREDIENTS:- 50ml @aperolspritzsa Good quality sparkling wine (like this beauty from @leopardsleap ) Soda water or sparkling water Ice Orange for garnish METHOD:- In an ice filled wine glass, add your double shot of @aperolspritzsa . Add equal amounts of sparkling wine & soda water. Today, let's chat @avene 💦 I received a package containing the Avene Cleanance Comedomed, the Cleanance Hydra & the Cleanance Mask. These products are designed to target skin skin that has increased oil production, breakouts & clogged pores - something many of us suffer with during the summer months. Cleanance Comedomend - 30ml R364.95 A lightweight, non-comedogenic serum that is suitable for all skin types, & is designed to address the root cause of acne & breakouts. This serum contains retinaldehyde (promotes cellular turnover, reduces formation of comedones (small bumps), blackheads & whiteheads. I have used this serum before & absolutely love it. It's so lightweight that it's the perfect summer product, & as soon as I start finding little bumps on my skin, small breakouts or my pores look clogged, I use this for a couple of days - that's how quickly it works for me! I also love how gentle it is, as products for breakouts usually irritate my skin. Cleanance Hydra - 40ml R279.95 A soothing moisturiser that is extremely hydrating, this is formulated for use when undergoing acne treatments that dry out your skin. This moisturiser contains a blend of the famous Avène Thermal Spring Water, glycerin & shea butter, replenishing the skin's moisture & maintaining a healthy skin barrier. I loved this for use with the serum, but it works so well when using my retinol night serum too, as that can leave my skin feeling a bit tight & dry. Cleanance Mask - 50ml R265 A detoxifying clay mask infused with comedoclastin technology, this mask helps to eliminate excess oil, unclog pores & reduce inflammation. I used this during December, when I wasn't as strict with my self-care as I usually am (due to stress). I decided that I've been MIA for long enough (& ha I decided that I've been MIA for long enough (& have enough new followers) that I thought I'd do a little catch up & a reintroduction. From around the middle of December we had an extremely stressful & emotionally draining time where a family member became seriously ill, & eventually passed away in the first week of January. Since then I've felt sad, anxious & uninspired - & I never post when I'm feeling in a space like this. I hate pumping out inauthentic content where I'm posting just for the sake of it - especially if I have to be on camera. I'm slowly getting back into my routine (self-care, healthy eating & just our daily routines in general were so out of whack), & feeling much more myself! So - if you're new here (or if you just haven't seen me pop up in your feed for a while), here are some facts about me! 💞 I'm 37 years old (38 in July) & while I had a bit of an existential crisis turning 30, I'm actually pretty calm about the impending FOUR ZERO. 💞 I'm Harry Potter crazy - watching the movies is my best way to calm my anxiety & relax. 💞 According to my husband I 'bop' when I'm eating something I like - I don't even know I'm doing it 🤣. 💞 If something is unicorn or birthday cake flavoured - you can bet your bottom dollar I'm going to try it out - I'm basically a kid in an adult's body. 💞 I am INCREDIBLY shy, & a total introvert - I actually suffer from social anxiety (& have been diagnosed with anxiety that I take medication for) BUT once I've let you in & I know you well, I'm completely relaxed & you'd never guess I'm a shy person. I don't have a big circle of friends, but the ones I have are gold - quality over quantity. 💞 If I do for some reason seem confident & extroverted when meeting new people - it's an act. I've learned over the years that the best way to appear confident when you don't feel it is to act confident. Eventually the act will fade away, the anxiety will disappear & you'll feel relaxed & genuinely confident! 💞 We have no kiddies (I had a hysterectomy in early 2022), but I have 2 fur-kiddies who are my everything!
