Home is the starting place of love, hope and dreams.
Ever since the beginning of the Covid 19 pandemic, our homes have become even more of a safe, comforting space for us.Β We’ve all had to spend more time in our little spaces, and therefore we’ve all begun to really make them into sanctuaries.
With hubby and I having just moved into our very first home together – and with that being a ‘build from scratch’ project that saw blood, sweat and tears (and is yet to be completed), we’ve really grown so accustomed to finding different ways to make the shell of a house into a true home.Β A large part of this is decor – and Woolworths has always been one of our top stops for beautiful pieces.
One thing we can both wholeheartedly agree on is our love for wood – you can see this in so many areas of our home, from our exquisite antique kitchen table, a long, perfectly worn work bench from a dairy farm in Ficksburg that we sourced from a local antique store, to the matching bench that was originally seating outside a principal’s office at a school, and the beautiful wooden steps that lead upstairs to our mezzanine level and guest room.
There has been a definite trend in wood and natural materials being a popular choice for home furniture, and while our house does have a bit of an industrial feel to it, the wood softens this, adding a gentle country-cottage feeling.
Woolies has taken this into consideration, and introduced 2 new beautiful South African brands to their collection.Β Anatomy Design, a locally manufactured and beautifully crafted outdoor furniture range designed exclusively for Woolworths by the brand, as well as Native DΓ©cor, which features for the most part work-from-home furniture solutions.Β Both of these brands are available online only.
In addition to this, Woolworths has also introduced FLEXA, a unique Danish furniture brand for children, designed to follow them through the years.Β It is available exclusively at the Woolworths Willowbridge store, and a small selection of the play items will be available to purchase online.
Anatomy Design
Anatomy Design is an internationally celebrated furniture design studio from South Africa that is known for its timeless design pieces, and the brand has worked with Woolworths on three pieces – a plant stand, an outdoor armchair and a side table.Β Each piece is crafted locally and 100% produced in South Africa.

Native DΓ©cor
Vusani Ravele began his business as a part-time hobby in 2015, and now the brand employs almost 20 people.Β Through his passion and grit, Native DΓ©cor creates both innovative and functional interior pieces with sustainable timber in a beautiful minimalist style.
Due to so many of us working from home these days, Woolies looked for furniture solutions that are both beautiful and functional, and the Native DΓ©cor range features a leaning writing desk and matching shelf, a coat stand, mirror and a hanging or standing pot planter.Β I personally have my eye on that leaning shelf!

FLEXA
A unique Danish children’s furniture brand that combines beautiful design with aΒ high standard of both quality and safety.
Their collections are focused on Sleep, Play and Study, and are made with long lasting materials, so they can be used as your child grows and their needs evolve.Β The pieces also evoke playfulness and imagination, with children’s chairs, stools and play tables, as well as toys and pretend-play furniture in the beautiful minimalist design.
You can view the FLEXA collection here.
Many South African’s enjoy open-plan living (as do we), and these brands and their beautiful designs ensure a free flow throughout the various areas in your home.
