I’m sure that if you’re Durban-based, you all know about the Suncoast Real Deal by now. You know, that amazing way of enjoying some entertainment out at Suncoast, without breaking a tight budget?
I have tried out the Real Deal twice now, once in 2017 and again last year: –
The Suncoast Real Deal offers you a way to take that date night, enjoy a girl’s night out or just get out and enjoy a delicious lunch with a friend. It’s available for use from Sunday to Thursday, so great even for those that work on Saturdays, which a lot of deals neglect to recognise. At the moment it’s valid until the 26 March 2020, as the deal usually runs for a short period of time – however you still have some time to take advantage of it. Just keep checking the Suncoast website HERE to keep up to date with when the next deal will be released.
This current deal costs only R199 and includes the following: –
2 x 2D standard movie tickets at the Suncoast Cinecentre
2 x meals at any of the following restaurants – Calistos, La Rosa, Mythos, Lupa, Spur, John Dory’s, Vigour & Verve, Ocean Basket (they have set menus for the deal, which you can read HERE)
2 x drinks from a bar on the casino floor (your choice of 2 of the following – Kway cool drink, Tea, Coffee, Hansa, Castle Lager, still or sparkling water)
The voucher booklet also includes special offers such as buy-1-get-1-free Barnyard tickets, a free cappuccino with 3 Krispy Kreme doughnuts purchased, 15% off at the biltong store and 15% off at the sweet shop.
You can enter to win your share of up to R6500 by popping your entry ticket from your Real Deal voucher into the entry bin on the casino floor (perfect when you’re sipping on those drinks)
We headed to La Rosa Mexican Grill to test out the set menu they were offering on the Real Deal, and (as with every time, with both La Rosa and the Suncoast Real Deal) we were blown away.
The set menu for La Rosa allows you to choose 2 mains from the below: –
Flame grilled half chicken with a spicy Mexican rub. Served with spicy chips.
Mexican Lamb Burger – 100% lamb patty basted with a smokey BBQ sauce with lettuce, onion & tomato
Veg enchilada-black beans, roast corn, mushrooms, zucchini, green rice, chilli sauce & cheese, wrapped in two flour tortillas.
POLLOY MAIZ – 3 soft shell tacos with spicy chicken, black beans, corn & red onion salsa with chipotle aioli, avo & cilantro.
Hake and prawn combo – Grilled hake served with 4 prawns and a side of chips
Hubs chose the Mexican Lamb Burger, which was huge and absolutely delicious, with a healthy serving of fries on the side. I decided to give the vegetarian offering a go – something I never usually do, as I am a definite meat eater. The Veg Enchiladas were utterly divine and served with spicy rice and refried beans. I totally didn’t even miss the meat and was stuffed to the brim! The price of the 2 meals is already over and above your cost of your Real Deal voucher, so this to me makes it 100% worth it.
We did indulge in a couple of their cocktails as well, as while drinks aren’t included, you’ve already saved money on your food, and you still have a movie to go to! I for one can whole-heartedly recommend the Blueberry Margarita, and I’m so heading back for another soon.
After our dinner we took a stroll around the casino floor and sipped on our drinks from one of the bars there, a lovely way to end the evening.
Overall I HIGHLY recommend you check out the Suncoast Real Deal at the moment, and make sure to check in and see when their new deal will be out. You can purchase your Real Deal booklet from the Box Office at Suncoast.
