Pamper your skin with Dove

I’m sure you all know that I’m a big fan of Dove products.  I used to exclusively use their deodorants (until I found a new, natural and vegan alternative that I’m currently trialing), Hubs and I ONLY use Dove soap bars in the shower, and I LOVE their shower gels and body lotions.  So it was without a doubt that I’d love their Purely Pampering range of body washes!

I have fairly sensitive skin, and heavily-fragranced products often leave it a bit irritated and itchy with extended use.  Along with this – they dry out your skin, leaving it stripped and crying out for a decent body lotion to replenish what was removed.

The Dove Purely Pampering body wash range contains a unique technology called NutriumMoisture ™ that feels nourishing on the skin, leaving it feeling softer, smoother and happier.  And Dove claims that it will do this after JUST ONE SHOWER.

Is that possible?

Now, I’ve used Dove body washes in the past, but I’m ALWAYS trialing new products (both new on the market and new to me), so I seldom stick to one brand for long.  So even though I’ve used the products, I wanted to genuinely put this claim to the test.

I am suffering pretty much what everyone else is right now – change of season skin.  It’s undecided, dry and not too sure what it wants (although what it NEEDS is extra moisture).  A good way to aid your skin in the transition to our colder months is to supplement your usual gel-based body washes, and light body lotions with richer, more nourishing products.  So – I stepped into the shower, dry skin and all, with the Dove Purely Pampering Coconut Milk & Jasmine Petals.

What did I think?

Heavenly – that’s all I can say.  The gentle fragrance is so feminine, the formula feels rich and creamy, and it foams up beautifully.  My skin soaked up the whole experience, and even though I still applied my usual post-shower lotion, I didn’t feel that my skin needed it as desperately as it usually does.

The next evening, it was time to use the Dove Purely Pampering Shea Butter & Warm Vanilla.  I’d saved this one for last, as vanilla is always a winner for me, and it didn’t disappoint.  The scent was even more decadent, yet it wasn’t overpowering.  It was rich and nourishing, and made me feel truly pampered during a simple pre-bedtime shower.  Once again, my skin felt soft and moisturised.

Overall

I’d have to say my favourite fragrance of the two is the Shea Butter & Warm Vanilla, but this is totally my biased affinity towards all things vanilla.  It smells luxurious and delicious!  However, the Coconut Milk & Jasmine Petals is a soft, feminine fragrance – nothing like an overly stereotypical coconut-fragranced product, but softly floral and a lot more mature and luxe.

If you’ve never tried one of the Dove Purely Pampering body washes, then give them a spin.  I guarantee you won’t be disappointed!  It’s a brand and product that I’ve bought several times, and if I’ll repurchase something over and over again – then you can bet your bottom dollar that it’s a goodie.
