While I do realise that a lot of people don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day, I couldn’t resist putting together a little gift guide. Yes – you should show your partner that you love them, and make them feel special year round! But I love any themed excuse to spoil my hubby.
Some people create handmade tokens of love, others do the flowers and chocolates or romantic dinners. You also get the people who splurge and go all out on Valentine’s Day, and if you can and want to, why not?
.Lace & Mesh Panel Body Suit (R450 from Woolworths) – I adore beautiful lingerie, and this is just so gorgeous. Plus, it could be worn as a sort of cami underneath a low cut shirt or dress, or even as a sexy, strappy top.
.Krispy Kreme Strawberry Love limited edition doughnut (available at Krispy Kreme stores) – Krispy Kreme makes the most insanely delicious doughnuts, and I’d be thrilled to receive a box of them. Their themed or limited edition ones are always amazing too – check out this heart-shaped one, filled with strawberry coulis, dipped in chocolate icing, and topped with vanilla drizzle and strawberry chocolate curls.
.Urban Decay Naked Cherry eyeshadow palette (R875) – The cherry-hued shades in this palette are perfect for creating either a toned down or more dramatic look for that Valentine’s Day date. Plus, Urban Decay make some of the best eyeshadow in the business!
.Jo Malone London Red Roses Cologne (R732 for 30ml) – With the current cost of roses, buy her something that will last longer. This gorgeous fragrance is totally on par with some of the bouqets of roses I’ve been seeing for Valentine’s Day, and not only is Jo Malone a totally luxe beauty brand, she’ll be able to enjoy the fragrance far longer than fresh flowers.
.Le Creuset Cast Iron Heart Shaped Casserole Post (R2360) – You know by now that I love my Le Creuset goodies. This would make a fab gift for the domestic goddess or foodie.
.Nomination Stainless Steel Hearts Bracelet (R1199) – Jewelry is always a winner, regardless of the occasion. Nomination really have been killing it lately with their new releases, and these heart bracelets are beautiful. Comes in gold and rose gold.
.Perfectly Customized Daily Envelope Clutch (R329) – Gorgeous handbags, toiletry bags, ID covers and more available on this site, and you can customise them with up to 4 letters free of charge (you will pay for additional letters). They even have emojis!
.J. One Red Jelly Pack (R455 from Glow Theory) – The latest addition to the brand that created the infamous J.One Jelly Pack, this new bottle is both an anti-ageing powerhouse AND a makeup-gripping primer. It’s also filled with antioxidants. A nice one to maybe treat yourself to 😉
.Handcrafted Salted Caramel Chocolate Hearts (R49.99 from Woolworths) -These look so gorgeous, and salted caramel is delicious.
.Victoria Classic Pink Gin (R349) – Gin is still a super popular beverage, so why not splurge on a good bottle. This beautiful pink gin has gorgeous packaging, and hey presto – you have the drinks for your romantic evening sorted!
.Dermalogica Age Smart Biolumin-C Serum (R1495) – Higher end skincare gifts are always welcome, especially a product as well-received as this vitamin C serum from Dermalogica.
.Oui Juicy Couture Eau de Parfum (R1199 for 50ml) – This stunning bottle of fragrance contains notes of watermelon, lemon, wild tuber rose and jasmine absolute. Definitely sounds like one I’d like to add to my own collection.
.Date Factory Date Boxes (from R390) – Don’t have time to plan a whole date? Let Date Factory do it for you! You can select from a number of different themed boxes, or even subscribe for a number of different subscription plans. Each box contains something to drink, something to eat and something to do. I’ve already made a mental note to check these date boxes out this year!
.byCara Gold Coin and Crescent Double Set (R150) – I saw this on Rayne from Make it Rayne this week, and am officially in love. A really lovely, and very affordable gift! Added this to my very own wishlist.
.Crown Pandora Rose Ring (R1779) – How stunning is this ring!? I always kind of associated Pandora with bracelets, but their other jewelry is just as exquisite. This rose gold ring would make ANY lady feel like a princess.
.Lush Sex Bomb bath bomb (R64.50) – Sadly we haven’t seen the official Lush Valentine’s collection yet, as thanks to poor weather it hasn’t arrived on our shores just yet. This permanent member of the bath bomb collection, however, is just right for a Valentine’s Day gift. It smells amazing!
.Ernie Els Wines Big Easy Red Blend (R159) – When all else fails, a bottle of good red wine is a winner. This is one of mine and Hubby’s favourites – smooth, easy drinking and filled with flavour. Ripe red and purple fruits, roasted coffee and milk chocolate, rose petals and boiled sweets – all linger together to delight your palate.
.Schwarzkopf BC Brazilnut Oil Talent 10 (R399) – I love me some Schwarzkopf hair care, and this 10-in-1 treatment sounds blissful. It’s like a leave-in hair oil that does everything you need, all in one convenient product. Plus, that packaging ensures it’ll be kept out on her vanity.
.Lindt Fruit Sensation Dark Chocolate Raspberry & Cranberry (R64.99) – You know Lindt always needs to make it’s appearance in a gift guide, PARTICULARLY a Valentine’s Day one! These are one of my favourite treats from the brand. Fruity, indulgent and oh so decadent.
.Skwe set of 20 personalised fridge magnets (R280) – You could have some magnets printed up for a few different people that you’d like to spoil, or treat one person to lots of magnets. What a lovely way to keep those memories alive!
I have two of these in my gift guide too, great taste!
