Today is my final gift guide for the festive season – my Gift Guide for under R100 gifts. These could be stocking stuffers or just small gifts for friends or Secret Santas. Either way, everything on this list is under R100 and I tried to make it as varied as possible.
One thing I regret? Creating these posts before the brand-spanking new Harry Potter goodies arrived at Typo and Cotton On! I’m an avid HP fan, so this would probably have been a lot more full of the newer and very exciting goodies.
.Hoghouse Holy Smoke Ghost Pepper Hot Sauce (R79) – This sauce is cautioned with the phrase ‘only for the brave’ and has a heat rating of 10/10. Great gift for the hot sauce lover!
.Harry Potter Calender (under R100) – If you’re a Harry Potter fan like myself (and my sister and some of my friends), you’ll love this calender in your home! Frustratingly enough, this no longer seems to be on the Typo online site, but I did see it recently still in store.
.I Heart Granola Rose-Marries Honey (R95) – I love supporting local South African companies, and I Heart Granola is one of those. This delicious granola is gluten-free and filled with nuts, seeds and all the goodness your body deserves. Plus, it’s packed with flavour, as the name suggests!
.Lindt Teddy 100g (R54.99) – Not only are the Lindt Teddies a staple Christmas treat, this year Lindt has taken it to a new (and wonderful) extreme. If you purchase two of the gorgeous 100g Teddies (you can buy boy and girl ones), not only will you be spoiling two people (or yourself, I’m not judging) with delicious gifts. Simply enter the unique codes under each Teddy on www.lindt.com then Lindt will donate a school bag to a child from the SOS Children’s Villages South Africa. This lasts until 25/12, so go out and get gifting!
.The Body Shop Chinese Ginseng & Rice Clarifying Polish Wash (R95) – Powder face polishes are growing in popularity, and this one is rumoured to be a very affordable dupe of the infamous Dermalogica Microfoliant. Lovely gift for the skincare lover.
.Panettone Inspired Rusks (R99.99) – Panettone is one of those Christmas staples. As soon as the festive season rolls around, the large cakes start dotting shelves everywhere. Woolies is also known for the fabulous gourmet rusks (try their Banana Bread Rusks or their Waffle Rusks to see why), so these Christmas-themed ones will DEFINITELY be finding their way into my life.
.The Body Shop Peppermint Candy Cane hand cream (R65) – TBS hand creams are a fabulous small gift, and the new range of limited edition Christmas scents are amazing. I’ve already harped on about the Peppermint Candy Cane one being my personal favourite, but you have a choice of Vanilla Marshmallow and Berry Bon Bon too, as well as all their regular scents.
.Soetkoekies in Tin (R99.99) – Woolies Soetkoekies are so delicious, and anything in a tin is a lovely gift. Beautiful and edible!
.Lush Golden Wonder bath bomb (R72.50) – This price might look hefty for a once-off bath treat, but the Golden Wonder is my all-time favourite of all the Lush bath products. Perfect stocking stuffer for the lover of all things bath-time.
.Leo Foods Panforte Margherita (R49) – Panforte (for those that have never tried it) is a cake dating back to medieval times. It’s made from honey, spices, glace fruit and nuts, and is absolutely delicious. We only see these decadent treats come out at Christmas time here in South Africa, so it’s a lovely gift for someone with a sweet tooth.
.Jingle All The Way mug (R79.95) – I’m a mug addict myself, so cute festive mugs are always a must have for me. I have my eye on another of these gorgeous offerings from Woolies. Tip – don’t wash mugs like this with metallic print on in the dishwasher. It will fade or flake away, so instead stick to handwashing these precious creations.
.Friends metal phone ring (R99.99) – These phone rings are so useful, as they ensure you can keep a good grip on your phone at all times. I’ve seen so many decorative ones, but this Friends one with the Central Perk logo on is awesome.
.Geranium & Rose body soap (R55) – I love soaps like this, as they’re a great little gift for ladies. It can be used in their guest bathrooms, or even popped into their lingerie drawers to softly scent their underwear. Plus the wrapping is so gorgeous.
& 15. Hold Your Own Pub Quiz game (R95) – In my rush I mislabelled this as 2 different items.. whoops! This would be great for the couples who love board games or attend their local pub’s quiz night. In fact, I think our family would love this!
.Harry Potter Mug (R69.99) – Another mug! And a Harry Potter one at that. I already own a gorgeous mug with the Hogwarts school crest on it, yet I’d pick up another HP mug in a heart beat. I am a notorious mug-collector for a reason! You can always make this more of a big gift if you add in the person’s favourite hot drink (hot chocolate, coffee or tea) and some biscuits or rusks.
