After a long period of only using drugstore foundations (and the infamous Urban Decay All Nighter that I still fight with and avoid unless I have some extra time to make it work), I gave in and grabbed a higher end foundation.
Now, for those of you that read this blog, you’ll know I’m a die-hard Estée Lauder Double Wear user. I used that foundation for over 10 years on and off, and always keep going back to it. I still love it, but MAN is it pricey, especially when you’re on a budget.
With all of my wedding celebrations, I knew I needed a good strong foundation that would last and keep me looking super flawless – and enter the Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Wear Foundation.
I was at first given a couple of samples of this, in different shades, to go home and test out. I love that I could do this, as you don’t want to buy a shade based on the fluorescent lighting, go home, use it, and it’s not the right colour – you then can’t return it! It also gave me the opportunity to see if the foundation worked with my skin, and boy did it! I’ve since
enabled convinced Camilla from Jane Wonder to buy the foundation too, and she loves it just as much as I do.
So let’s get down to my ‘Tested’ review!
Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Wear Foundation – a medium to full coverage foundation that is long lasting, contains SPF 15, provides you with comfortable wear and is re-touch free.
The packaging is a slim glass bottle, with a black plastic pump and black lid with a golden metal top embossed with the signature Lancôme rose logo. Very luxurious, definitely something I like to keep on display on my makeup table! The pump is of a decent quality, it doesn’t stick at all, and dispenses the same amount of foundation each time.
It is stated to be a full coverage foundation, but it applies as a medium to full coverage foundation, when applied with fingers, a brush and with a beauty sponge. You can very easily build it up to be even more full coverage.
I’ve never tested the claim that it gives you 24 hour wear, because who wears their foundation for 24 hours?? I have put it to the test on days where I knew I’d battle to find time or a mirror to touch up properly, as well as when I knew I had an event to attend after work, and was getting up at around 6:30am for work. It most definitely lasts all day long and I needed minimal to no touch ups, and I’m a girl who likes to blot and/or powder once a day. Score!
A liquid foundation, but quite a thick liquid and very opaque in colour and super pigmented.
I believe the Foschini online store stocks 14 of the 40 shades that are available internationally. I’m not entirely sure what Red Square stock, as they don’t seem to have the foundation on their online store, even though there is a banner advertising it on their Lancôme brand page.
The foundation retails for R499 for 30ml.
I’ve found the foundation in Foschini, Red Square and Edgars stores.
Most definitely yes! I love this just as much, if not more than my favourite Estée Lauder Double Wear. It’s actually more affordable (although not by a great deal) and a little goes a long way.
Have you tried this foundation before? What foundation are you currently loving?
