My folks were lucky enough to take just over a week out over Easter, to head over to Dublin to spend time with family there. It was my Mom’s first time there, and her first time meeting a lot of my Dad’s family, so it was a really lovely break for the two of them.
I placed a small online order for myself, and had it delivered to a family member’s house for my folks to pick up, and then my Mom completely and utterly spoiled me rotten. She took full advantage of some Soap & Glory specials at Boots, as well as doing a few spots of shopping elsewhere too.
Here are all the goodies I’d been lusting after, and that I was lucky enough to finally get my hands on.
I’ve been wanting The Glam Guide by Fleur de Force, ever since I started watching her YouTube channel. She’s one of my favourite YouTuber/bloggers, and this book is just so darn beautiful. I also jumped at the chance to grab one of her lipglosses, and I chose Written in the Stars, a lovely nude-y pink.
The majority of my haul was definitely Soap & Glory. I am so in love with this brand, and have only tried a few products, but I now have a lot more to try out. I’ve had their Hand Food hand cream before, and adore it, so I needed another tube. I received a travel size of The Daily Smooth body butter in my International Box Swop, that I really loved, and I finally got a full-size tube. Endless Glove is a hand cream/mask that I’ve also been wanting to give a bash, and this now has a permanent place on my bedside table.
A Soap & Glory goodie I hadn’t even really looked at before is The Daily Soothe Bath Float, yet my Mom knows me far too well, and this made the journey home too. In fact, I’m going to try this out tonight! Whipped Clean Shower Butter is one of the shower goodies I’ve lusted after for absolute ages, and it doesn’t disappoint! It smells of pistachio, almond and sweet vanilla creaminess, and I just wish it was edible. I’m trying my hardest not to use this every time I shower.
Now onto the Soap & Glory make up. I’ve long wanted an eye-liner from their line, as well as the Archery Brow Pencil & Brush, in Hot Chocolate. This little brow gem is AMAZING! I’ve used it almost daily since I got it, and I can see I’m going to have to make a Boots order for more of these. Nothing here in South Africa compares to it. I also received the Supercat Fat Jumbo Carbon Blank Ink Eyeliner pen, as well as the Supercat Carbon Black Extreme Eyeliner pen. I’ve only used the thinner of the two, and it applied and lasted really well.
The last of my Soap & Glory make up goodies consisted of a concealer and some lip products. The Kick Ass Concealer Camouflage Kit looks like a real goodie, although I haven’t yet tried it. I love the shade of the Sexy Mother Pucker Matte Lip crayon, in Fire Cracker – it’s a bright orange-y red, and so unique. The Sexy Mother Pucker Extreme XL Plump is basically a plumping gloss that you can apply before or after your lipstick, or you can wear it alone. It has a super intense tingling, almost fizzing sensation, so this one isn’t for sissies. I love it though, and I can definitely see a plumping action from it, especially in my top lip. I also got a Sexy Mother Pucker Matte lipstick in the shade Super Nude, a really beautiful, natural nude.
I already know how much I love Real Techniques brushes, and I always like looking at new ones to add to my small collection. I’ve also been longing for their Bold Metals brushes, but just haven’t been able to justify the price here in South Africa, for one single brush. My Mom managed to find three brushes for me, the Bold Metals Tapered Blush Brush, the Bold Metals Flat Contour Brush, and the Retractable Bronzer Brush. I love all three, but those Bold Metals brushes just give me so many butterflies inside. GORGEOUS!
I have terribly dehydrated skin, and I’ve read on quite a few blogs that the Vichy Aqualia Thermal Power Serum is the best thing for this. Now, we do have access to Vichy products here in SA, yet this serum isn’t available here. It should be, because after just two uses of this, my dehydration was almost gone, and any redness in my skin was calmed down to nearly nothing. Miracle serum! My folks also wanted to bring back a little bit of Ireland too, so I received a Scents of Ireland Irish Mist Eau de Toilette. This is the most beautiful fresh, clean fragrance, and it’s my daily perfume at the moment. Here is a description of the scent, and a picture of the bottle – very simple, but all glass, and so pretty.
And now for my absolute favourite gift…
I think this was tracked down at Debenhams in Dublin, and I actually squealed when I was handed both of these. I have the original Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette and the Urban Decay Chill Makeup Setting Spray. Both praised as holy-grail products, and so far I’m in love. We’re in a pretty steady relationship. The setting spray feels so cool and hydrating, and each time I’ve used it, I haven’t had to touch up my make up at all. When Urban Decay launch in SA this year, best you get your hands on one!
The Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette is everything I ever wanted it to be and more. The colours are all beautiful, all colours I’d use, and they are unbelievably soft and so pigmented. Plus the smell is to die for. I already have a favourite shade – Marzipan – and I’m trying not to use it EVERYTIME I dip into this palette. Now I just need to get my hands on some more Too Faced products.
I can’t believe how spoiled and lucky I am with this haul, and I’ll most probably be mentioning these products repeatedy. There’s a reason why international bloggers rave about them all, and I’m so impressed with EVERY SINGLE ONE of the goodies I received.
